In 2017, the Slovenian Research Foundation awarded prestigious recognitions for excellence in science communication to two professors from the University of Maribor and the Institute of Computer Science. Prof. Dr. Matjaž Perc received the Prometheus of Science award for outstanding individual achievements, the Institute of Computer Science was recognized as an organization promoting science communication, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andraž Stožer received a finalist certificate for Communicator of the Year for his broad and effective engagement with diverse audiences.
